What better day to start blogging than tho release of Speak Now (My favorite album)Taylor's version? I'll write my thoughts as I listen straight through for the first time.
Just started. I like the original Mine better. The layered vocals are weird and her voice sounds forced. It's meh, different from the original.

Okay Sparks Fly is less aggressively different but it's still very different from the original. I like that the drums are more intense, but again I don’t like the vocals.

WAIT. It sounds better on Spotify. Why did it sound worse on Apple Music(maybe I had spatial auto on, will investigate later)

Back to December is musically much better. I always thought the intro sounded like it was recorded badly. Made me feel like my headphones were bad, but this new version is much better. Also, the vocals feel very similar to the original. I’d pick this over the original.

But who is this guy with the background vocals?? It's like they’re giving you an alternate key to sing along in.

Ugh, the bridge is so good

Speak Now took me by surprise. She sounds much older. I liked the old whiney version.
But on this version, I appreciate the layered vocals. She has the whiney version in there.

Dear John is the right amount of similar. Was never my favorite, but this feels very similar and true to the original while being a better produced version. Hoping the rest are like this.

Mean managed to make the annoying banjo or whatever horrible instrument that is even more annoying. But the chorus is easier to listen to than the original.

Why did I think The Story Of Us was just Story of Us. No The?

Never Grow Up sounds the same to me. Never paid teh original much attention.

Enchanted is just as good as the Original, imo.

Okay, let's see if the lyric change ruined Better Than Revenge. The song so far is not as fun.
Yup it's not near as good as the original.

Innocent - better than the original

OOOH the symphony in Haunted is great. Don't like the weird echo.

Last Kiss - didn't pay enough attention to the original to have a strong opinion

Long Live - I think my ears adjusted to the new album. Sounds good.

Ours - Good

Superman - good

Electric Touch - FALL OUT BOY
This is so much fun

When Emma Falls in Love - I understand why this wasn't part of the original release. It's not bad, it's just not as exciting and kinds doesn't fit with the album.

I Can See You - This does not feel like a TSwift song. It's not bad, it's just weird to hear on here.

Wait, actually the chorus sounds like one of her songs.
Also the little voice thing she does in Mine is cool here.

Castles Crumbling - HAYLEY WILLIAMS.

Why is this not a punk song? My expectation were too high. Nice to hear her voice though.

I think I understand all the people who complained there wasn't enough Lana Del Ray in those.

Foolish One - This is kinda nice. Again, I see why it wasn't on the original release, but it's a good song.

Timeless - A very last song feeling last song.

Concluding Thoughts. With the exception of a few songs, I think I will default to listening to this album just for the new songs. I do not however think any of the songs were dramatically better than the original, so I don't feel the need to update any playlists like I did for RED(TV). Going to sleep now. Maybe I'll have more thoughts tomorrow. I also got the code for this blog working while listening so I will have to listenn again with more attention while driving.
